Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Eriel Deranger on the Shell Jackpine expansion and Dwayne Bird on the Idle No More Poster Campaign

Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation spokesperson Eriel Deranger joined Indigenous Waves host Susan Blight for a prerecorded interview regarding the decision from the Alberta Court of appeal dismissing ACFN’s application for leave to appeal a decision of the Joint Review Panel to not review the adequacy of Crown consultation before deciding whether to approve Shell’s Jackpine Mine expansion project.

In the second half of the show, Indigenous Waves producer Jamaias DaCosta speaks with creative director of Birdwire Media Inc. regarding his recent poster campaign as part of the Idle No More social media/rally movement.
